I was chatting with my friend, Greg, who starts a wonderful new job on Monday. He had been looking for some time when he decided to move from the Northeast of the U.S. to the Southeast. From the outside, it didn’t make a lot of sense as he had a house to sell in a market with home inventories far exceeding demand. Clearly his move took a leap of faith.
Following his gut and intuition didn’t stop there, but carried over to what jobs to pursue, events to attend, and people to meet. What unfolded surprised even Greg – in extremely positive ways. He couldn’t have better orchestrated how he landed his new position, even will all of his strategic thinking, creativity, and determination.
What he learned (and I did, too) is that brute force and determined action are not enough to have what we want in life. It also takes an openness and sense of curiosity as to where, when, and how a goal can be reached.
Thanks Greg and congrats!
Happy Thursday,
Anita
