I was just chatting with someone who we will call Jedd. He is a talented marketing professional who has a gap in his resume. As a result, he discounts his value to future employers. On the surface, he personal evaluation seemed accurate.
Then I started asking him questions about what he had done in the past and projects on which he is currently working. As Jedd described his consulting projects with start-ups, his strengths, talents, and value shone forth. This real value will help him find that next job – and now he sees it, too.
Please remember that what you may perceive as easy for anyone to achieve, could only be easy for you. Bring forth the real value you provide, own it, and (dare I say) celebrate it with humility.
Have a great Thursday and Happy Birthday, Ellen,
