Back From a Skid

Yesterday I woke up to a loud crash, and while the specifics about the cause aren’t so important, what I will say is that I felt upset, disconcerted, and a bit lost. My first inclination was to blame my circumstances. While is is convenient and ostensibly easy, it is completely ineffective and a waste of time.

There is no forward movement. It’s like skidding on ice while driving (something many people have experienced during the winter weather) and blaming the ice – or even worse, fighting the ice. If you do, you will not win. The other alternative is to steer into the skid – in other words, acknowledge it and use to ultimately advance.

While I initially was focused on the situation that was messing up my day, eventually I came back from the skid.

Have a great week,
