Hope Versus Resolve

I was chatting with a colleague this week and we had a very interesting conversation on why some people achieve their goals, yet others talk for years without tangible results.

We came to the conclusion that the actions individuals took (from networking to writing up their skills, strengths, and talents) were very similar. The big difference was what was in the person’s heart. When it’s hope that something would somehow change and lead him/her to success at some point in the future, the locus of responsibility is outside – a weak position. On the other hand, deep resolve that bubbles up from a place of certainly, confidence, and commitment  is s super a powerful position.

That’s where I want to be. You?

More later,
