You Have to Be Present to Win

I was with a couple of friends recently and I was really impressed by the approach one of them took as he approached the marketplace for a job. He found that his greatest strength was in building relationships, he made a point of meeting new people wherever he went. Not only that, he really listened to what they needed and found ways to help them.

While this sounds simple (and it is), what makes this new friend remarkable is that he was constantly finding ways to be in the thick of things – authentically, appreciatively, and with humility.
