I was chatting with someone recently and he was really stressed about a goal he was pursuing. He was clearly taking action and yet, every few minutes, he would say, “I gotta get going.”
Finally at the end of our conversation, I paused and said, “You are going. If you think you ‘gotta get going,’ you will never feel satisfaction, a sense of accomplishment, or good about yourself. Even more, your confidence, commitment, and energy could really decline.”
He seemed shocked by his own behavior and is now keeping track of what he is achieving – even the little stuff.
