The Feeling/Success Powerhouse

There have been people for hundreds of years who believe that thinking makes it so. While thinking and believing with your head it essential, it’s so clearly incomplete. Otherwise, we would have a thought and it would super quickly manifest. Yet this rarely happens.

The missing piece is feelings. There must be an emotional component to a goal, aspiration, or dream to give it the fuel to ride through any obstacles and stay on course. I would say that one of the most important emotions is gratitude – both during the fantastic times and challenging ones.

The Courage to Know What You Want

I seem to be hanging around a number of people who are making big, bold changes in their lives. To the outside world, these moves can appear impulsive, risk-seeking, and even random. Yet, when I speak with any of these individuals, their decisions were focused, timely, and needed.

So, friends on the move – I admire your courage, commitment, and heart.

The Courage and Cowardice Partnership

Something happened yesterday that really scared me. There was no physical danger and what someone asked of me wasn’t even all that significant  – but I noticed this fear that starting in my throat and expanded out from there.

My first reaction was: “wow, are you a coward!” At least from many things I am and have done, I know that isn’t true. Yet the fear in my heart showed me the limitations I place on myself. That’s actually great news because now, I can gently babystep my way to greater courage without chastising myself for the fears that may creep in at times.

When You Are Ready to “Fail”

Okay, I can’t imagine that anyone reading this has failed in one form or another Before you delete this, let’s define failing. Failing doesn’t mean that never having a setback or obstacle. What it does mean is giving up and defeating yourself from the outside in.

If at any time you are ready to “fail”, reach out to someone you respect and seek guidance, support, and encouragement. You owe it to yourself and to the rest of us who need your talents, skills, and experience.

A Question About Acknowledgment

Today, I have a question for you.

Here you go: If you have been working REALLY hard toward something and instead of being praised, you are rejected What would you to do turn things around – starting with potentially changing what’s in your heart?

Thanks for thinking about this,
Anita

Why Succeed?

This may seem like a silly question, but most people who fail or achieve their goal and end of unhappy – don’t know why they pursued the success in the first place.

Pause for a moment and ask yourself why you want a specific goal or dream – 10 times – and write down all 10 answers. See what you notice and use this to build your answers into your “why”.

Having a “why” will help you ride out the rough spots and celebrate all of the good stuff.

Your Impact Translates into Success

Some people believe that more is better and that more will have a greater impact. This is often not true.

As you envision the impact that you want to have, focus on the quality of your effort and most importantly, the quality of your interactions with others. Relationships are the strongest and most direct pathway to success. When you make it easy for others to help you and create appreciative conversations, your success and happiness will accelerate.
