Refuse to Drown Out Success

I was meeting with someone this week and toward the end of the conversation, I asked him a question. I really wanted his perspective, opinion, and ideas. Yet at the moment he offered something that was different than what I had already decided, I started to shut down and almost stop listening. Yet I forced myself to stay present.

About 30 minutes after he left, I realized that his suggestion was right on point and actually brilliant. Good lesson for me (and perhaps you) to keep listening through the discomfort when someone disagrees with something about which you care deeply.

Have a great day,
Anita
