Success on the Other Side

I was chatting with someone, let’s call her Laney, who was incredibly frustrated by a colleague who just couldn’t see her point of view. As Laney and I talked, it became clear to both of us that she was doing the same thing to her colleague that she believed he was doing to her – not listening and closed to having her mind changed. The next time the two of them met, Laney really listened and found a tiny bit of common ground. That became a foundation for more to follow.

Success can be found in places that seem unlikely, at best, if you listen with an open mind and heart and be determined to find areas of agreement and value.
