Avoid This Derailer at All Costs

I was meeting with someone (let’s call him Sam) recently who unfortunately is unable to find and keep a job that creates career progression for him. This was really hard to understand because is capable, well-educated, and filled with talent – that is, until he shared what he thought the problem was.

Once he began to speak, all I heard was blaming, complaining, and resentment – and that he didn’t believe that he was responsible at all. Yet, there is a positive end to this story. The longer Sam spoke, the more he realized that he was the primary problem and is proudly polishing his own character to create a sustainable career.
