Do You Have a Power Leak?

I have the great good fortune to be able to meet and talk to new people and old friends every week. It’s fun, energizing, and enlightening.

Lately, I feel a little shift, with more individuals feeling stuck and at an impasse, with not enough energy to get past it. I’ve been noodling on why and I’ve come to a few conclusions. They each relate to an increased focus on the negative side of things.  While understandable, more is needed to change things.

The three points of power leaks are resentment, resistance, and regret. Wow, big things and you can still shift them.  Here’s a starting point: 1. Find a goal (even a tiny one) to which you can commit. This gives you a great sense of purpose and can help you to stay the course. 2. Five one action under your control and that’s doable. Allocate even 10 minutes and do it. This will give you a consistent boost. 3. Think of someone who has made your life better. Tell them and include the positive impact they had on you. This third step will remind you how many people care about you.

This is a solid start. What I’ve seen in myself and others are forward movement, greater hope, and more self-reliant power. They are fixing those energy leaks, one at a time.
